Mineral Resources in Arkansas


The Arkansas River Basin is rich in oil, anthracite and bauxite. Bauxite production in the South and southwest of Little Rock City accounts for more than 90% of the national output. In Magnitko, near Hot Spring Town, there are more than 40 mineral deposits in a small valley, the most important of which are barite and titanium. Murfrisborough is the only diamond producer in the country.
